above is the malaysian dessert 'ice kacang' stall found in the Queen Victoria night market.....i found it interesting and so i took a pic...
Above pic is of the Cheongsam/Chinese dress girl i took...
Above is the fireworks along the Yarra River, as u can tell, my flash was not working properly...damn!!
I went to the Commonwealth Games celebrations along the Yarra River today and just got bck..it was fantastic, esp the fireworks display!!! Really crowded too! There were big screens at many locations screening what was going on inside the MCG Stadium and there was a line of artificial fish displays representing each participating country along the Yarra river......and also quite alot of korean tourists too, hehehe, i just can't seem to not mention koreans somehow, and did i mention about how cute some of the korean guys were too?hehe....the girls were good looking too actually, ANYWAYS, i shall not be distracted by the cute korean guys and ramble on about them, it was a great experience and my digicam went down on me...no battery!! so hopefully my friends brought their handphones and digital cameras so i will get the photos off them...these photos are the ones i took b4 my battery went flat....i also saw a girl in a cheongsam! took a photo of her,hehehe....the one above.....a fantastic evening to be remembered. Before the CW event, i went to the Queen Victoria Night Market with my friend (who's from Penang as well) and we ate some stuff there and looked at the handicrafts being sold there and really liked these hand-made paper desk lamps but abit too expensive....BUT guess what i came across....a yukata stall!!! Yukata is the summer version of the kimono so basically the same thing but the material is abit thinner....AND it was selling 2nd hand yukata for both guys and girls for only $10!!!!! That is SUPER SUPER SUPER cheap considering that i couldn't buy it in Tokyo cos they cost at least 10,000 yen (mayb Aussie$150?) or aussie$50 at least for a 2nd hand one so i was OVERJOYED and guess what, i bought myself a yukata, my first yukata/kimono and i was surprised how good i looked in it when i came home to try it on, i have decided that i shall go to the Japan Festival coming to melbourne wearing the yukata, i mean what other chance do i have to wear it besides Japanese festivals?? Really glad to have found such a bargain,i mean its even cheaper than ur average western clothes....so for those of u who live in melbourne and who don't know or haven't been to the QV night market, it is ending next week (on weds only), so go visit and have a look at the yukata stall whilst u r there!!
What an eventful day it was today!
