Pics from my time in Tokyo during 'Sakura season' in early April in 2005......
Its been three years since my student exchange in Japan back in 2005..i miss Japan, and i know of tons of people whom have travelled to Japan recently for either hols or vacations or studying,etc..i know of one blogger whom i have read his blog and known him for more than 2 yrs...he's Malaysian and always dreamt of going to Japan to study...he's really quite a fanatic when it comes to Japan and even wishes to be Japanese for some odd reason...and altho he told he had quit his job on MSN last time we chatted early this yr, he made no mention of the fact that he was finally achieving his life-long dream....until i read his blog a week ago and found out he had finally achieved his lifetime dream of going to Japan and is now studying in Tokyo...
I am really really really happy for him, given that I've seen him improve his Japanese skills in these 2 yrs and he's finally there, where he had always wanted to be (and talked about for 2 yrs)...and that makes me jealous, I really wanna get a job in japan (which isn't teaching english, which another friend of mine is planning on doing)..but my Japanese language skills are not that good..anyone have any recommendations or know of any available jobs in Tokyo? (or any english recruitment websites for japan, for that matter??) And its been Sakura season for the past 2 weeks now...gosh!!!!!!! I miss Japan......(and i mean Tokyo life!)

Gaijin finding a job which doesn't involve teaching ingrish to people seem to be very rare. Perhaps there are sites run by gaijin with job listings, or just ask people living there....
aimlesswanderer: Yeah...actually many foreigners are able to find jobs in Japan which doesn't involve teaching english but then u gotta either be in one of the large multinational corporate firms or have yrs of experience to apply to a job there..i'll keep a lookout:)
Maybe try and look for a job at a firm which has a japanese branch? Transferring within a firm is probably easier. Do many lawyers go and lawyer in Japan?
aimlesswanderer: yeah, but its difficult to get in in the first place...not alot of law jobs for foreigners in Japan...unless u're pretty good...
True, but foreign firms need overseas staff for their offices there. Maybe do something else besides lawyering?
aimlesswanderer: yep, will think about it...thanks for the advice:):)
Hi. Just wanted to say thanks for your thoughts on 'The Love of Siam'. I totally agree with your comments having just watched this amazing movie.
nick: Hi...thanks for leaving a comment..yeah..it was a great but bittersweet movie..such a sad ending..did u watch it from the link i provided by any chance?
No, I torrent'd it. Really liked the story but had wished the ending was different, but if they HAD ended up together it would have been too much perfection in an imperfect world. I just acquired the Director's Cut today, so am going to watch out for the extra footage... I feel there were some unanswered, niggling, questions. I am hoping for answers... and sunshine in London! Haha. Peace!
nick: ooohh, yeah, but like i suggested in my post, they could have given the same sad ending but explained it differently...like how tong needed time to deal with it and for his mother to accept it and so they couldn't be together 'for now'. That would have been a great way to end i thought..hehe..but i love the film and Mew, Tong, and]Ying nevertheless.
