The Lunar New Year is celebrated in quite a big way here in Sydney and that's great for me given that CNY is one of my biggest festivals in the Chinese calendar.
Photos of both events below:
Above & Below: CNY Twilight Parade along George St (Sydney's main thoroughfare in the CBD).
Above and Below: The scorching day @ CNY Dragon Boat Race Darling Harbour.

Looks like Sydney didn't skim on the CNY deco and events!
ReplyDeleteThere are, after all, heaps of Asians in Sydney - about 700,000 or so, 17% of the population.
ReplyDeletegina: It gets better every year!
ReplyDeleteaimlesswanderer: yeah..
ReplyDeletehappy chap goh mei... i kinda miss darling harbour =p
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's every grander than hear. Here, we have LOTS of fireworks and firecrackers (Save the environment!)...open houses - all the visiting...and a lot of feasting and drinking. Dunno if there were any parades...
ReplyDeletefufu: Happy Chap Goh Mei to You too Fufu!:-)
ReplyDeleteSuituapui: Yes, different places celebrate CNY differently:)
